Over the past 30 years, Matt has led Council Bluffs with steady, experienced leadership delivering real results that matter to families, businesses, and neighborhoods across the city. From revitalizing our River’s Edge and downtown, to improving public safety, infrastructure, and job growth, Matt’s focus has always been on building a stronger, more connected community.

Mayor Matt Walsh has been a champion for Council Bluffs investing in public safety, revitalizing our downtown, supporting small businesses, and improving infrastructure without raising taxes.

Under Matt’s leadership:

  2. Complete critical road and bridge upgrades to improve safety, traffic flow, and long-term infrastructure.

  3. Grow jobs in tech and logistics by supporting business expansion and workforce development.

  4. Invest in mental health and youth services to strengthen families and build a healthier community.

  5. Deepen partnerships with schools and nonprofits to better serve residents and amplify impact.

  6. Modernize city services through smart technology that saves time, improves access, and increases efficiency.
